ISO tanks and flexitanks: shipping bulk liquids at scale
Moving liquids at scale is about safety, compliance, traceability and control, not just capacity. How to choose the equipment and run the operation.

What makes bulk liquid logistics difficult?
Moving liquids at scale is not just a question of capacity. The real challenge is doing it safely, in compliance and under control, without losing time or money to logistics errors, idle equipment or poor coordination between providers. Grupo Griska uses its experience with ISO tanks and flexitanks to run these operations end to end, so each shipment flows with more efficiency and certainty.
ISO tank or flexitank: which one should you use?
An ISO tank is a stainless steel tank inside a 20 ft ISO frame. It is reusable, typically holds 21,000 to 26,000 litres and is the standard choice for hazardous chemicals and for food-grade liquids that need high-strength containment.
A flexitank is a single-use bag installed inside a standard 20 ft container, typically holding 16,000 to 24,000 litres. Because it needs no cleaning or return trip, it is usually the most economical and lower-impact option for non-hazardous liquids and food products.
The right choice depends on the product, the volume, the route and the requirements of the destination market. We analyze each operation before recommending the equipment.
Why does integration matter as much as the equipment?
Bulk liquid operations need planning, technical knowledge, correct documentation and close follow-up. One of the biggest problems is depending on separate providers for transport, documentation, storage, safety and contingencies. Grupo Griska covers all of them in one structure, without adding more providers to your chain.
Besides logistics coordination, we offer cargo insurance, warehousing, transloading and spill containment, documentation and logistics paperwork, and legal advice on foreign trade. That gives you a much stronger response to problems that can appear before, during and after the move.
We also advise on ocean, air and road transport, and combine modes when the operation requires it. Multimodal planning keeps a large liquid import or export consistent from origin to destination.
